A memorial celebration of the life of the late Jim Skaley, Town Board member and advocate for the hamlet of Varna will be held at 2pm, March 25 at the First Unitarian Society, 306 N. Aurora Street, Ithaca.
James “Jim” Skaley died in his Varna home on Saturday, December 24, 2022. He was 79. Jim had resigned from his Dryden town board position December 2 due to failing health.
A Democrat, Jim was elected to the Dryden Town Board in 2019, taking office in 2020. Prior to that he was a member of the Dryden Town Planning Board and worked for the Tompkins County Planning Department for ten years, retiring in 1998.
